PicoWay® Resolve™ is an effective, non-invasive, non-surgical anti-aging device that uses short laser pulses to stimulate natural collagen production for a younger-looking skin tone. How is Resolve™ different from IPL?
Resolve is more comfortable than IPL (as reported by many Spa 35 clients), it focuses more energy on wrinkle reduction and dermal re-building (to reduce acne scars) than IPL. Resolve can be a “lunchtime” procedure without the dark flakiness of an IPL, Resolve is appropriate for all skin colors.
What does a typical Resolve™ treatment look like?
Resolve treatments are usually scheduled in a series of two or three sessions. The client and provider communicate about the desired outcomes and potential recovery time of the procedure, those with more available downtime and desired outcomes can receive higher energy settings. There is no gel used during the treatment.
Clients report the treatment is more comfortable than an IPL, less direct heat on the skin and less eye irritation from the bright light of IPL. The treatment feels like a “warm pencil” is drawing on your skin. Each treatment usually lasts 30-45 minutes. Your skin can be red and looked like you’ve been in the sun, this quickly dissipates, particularly if you’ve requested a “lunchtime” treatment.
How long until I see results from my Resolve™ treatment?
After your Resolve treatment your skin will begin rebuilding collagen and elastin. This process can take six weeks or more. Immediately after your treatment dark spots may get darker and sometimes flaky. These will decrease in appearance five to ten days after your treatment. They can be covered by make-up, usually twenty-four hours after your treatment.
What areas can be treated with Resolve™?
The most common treatment area is the face. The chest, hands and arms are other excellent areas for Resolve. It can improve the lines between the breast that result from sun damage and side sleeping. Aged hands are another great area. Our hands become spotted and this skinned from sun exposure and Resolve can restore firmness to your hands and reduce dark spots.
Does PicoWay® Resolve™ require several treatment sessions?
If you’re trying to address a specific skin condition such as hyperpigmentation or acne scars, we recommend a series of treatments to help get the results you want. The number of treatments depends on the specific condition; most patients have about 3-4 treatments.
Are there any side effects to a PicoWay® Resolve™ treatment?
Some patients experience short-term effects such as redness, itching, mild burning, swelling, and temporary bruising. Pigmented areas may appear darker or lighter for the first several days, but return to normal pigmentation color in less than a week. You may see darker spots peeling or falling off in the treatment site, but this is a normal part of the process.
